A Port Charlotte man called deputies after he found an unlocked safe filled with narcotics in his front yard, authorities said.
The man said he found a black bag in front of his house on the 23000 block of Midway Boulevard Wednesday morning, said a Charlotte County Sheriff's Office news release. When he looked in the bag, he found a small Sentry safe containing two plastic bags with what appeared to be drugs.

Deputies said one bag contained 86 grams of crystal meth and the other had 57 grams of meth. According to detectives, the street value of the drugs would be between $5,000 and $7,000.
