A Sweetwater Police officer was hospitalized after his police cruiser collided with a school bus in southwest Miami-Dade early Thursday.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. in the area of Southwest 112th Avenue and 152nd Street, as the bus was making a left turn into a McDonald's, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

The police cruiser struck the back end of the bus, which had no children inside, the FHP said.
The officer was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
Ex-Miami Officer Freed on Bond in Hit-Run Case
Two eastbound lanes of 152nd Street were closed because of the crash, the FHP said.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
