Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing woman.
Erica Viera Borges, 26, was last seen Thursday at an abandoned golf course at 12067 SW 12th Street in Pembroke Pines, officials said.
Authorities were called to that location after an observer said he saw a woman across the canal, soaking wet. The observer told police the woman made a statement that made him concerned for her safety.
Police searched the canal and golf course, but were unable to locate her.
Officials say Borges suffers from schizophrenia and does not have her medication.
Borges, who is 5'6" tall and weighs 125 pounds, left her home Wednesday. She was last seen wearing a blue blouse and black leggings. She may also be carrying a black backpack.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to call the Pembroke Pines Police Department at 954-431-2200, email Tips@ppines.com, or call Crimestoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
