U.S. Coast Guard crews found nine people, including two Americans, who were reported missing off the coast of Honduras.

Everyone has been reported alive, but their conditions are not yet known.

A Coast Guard search plane from Clearwater found the boaters Wednesday at about 10:30 a.m. about 66 miles from their departure in Honduras, and about 55 miles northwest of their intended destination of Utila Island, Honduras, the Coast Guard in Miami said. They were lifted into a helicopter and helped by rescue swimmers.

Authorities said that two U.S. citizens, six Honduran citizens and one Canadian were rescued, and that one of the Americans was a minor. Their identities have not been released.

They were on a 28-foot vessel, the Coast Guard in Miami said.

The group left Roatan, Honduras on Saturday afternoon and were expected to arrive at Utila Island, but the boat did not arrive as expected and a family member of one of the American passengers reported them missing, according to the Coast Guard.

Coast Guard helicopters and crews worked with crews attached to U.S. Southern Command based out of Honduras as well as Honduran navy vessels in the search that scoured more than 4,500 square miles before finding the vessel.
