An Orlando International Airport landscaper was injured during a run-in with an alligator at a lake near the airport Wednesday.
Philip Brian Letner, 50, was weed whacking just south of the State Road 528 exit Wednesday morning when the 8-foot alligator attacked his leg, WESH reported.
When another worked came to help, the alligator went back into lake.
Letner was left with a 4- to 5-inch cut. He was taken to the hospital to get stitches, the report said.
The alligator was later caught by airport staff and is scheduled to be killed.
