Laces the manatee is now swimming free in the waters off Cape Canaveral after a year of rehabilitation at SeaWorld Orlando.
The adult female manatee was treated for boat injuries on her upper back and buoyancy issues after a resident found her floating in a Cocoa Beach canal last August.

Laces, who weighs 900 pounds, traveled from Orlando to waters near the Cape Canaveral Air Force Base and was released where other manatees could be seen swimming.
SeaWorld has rescued 12 manatees this year and returned seven.
