Hialeah Police said they arrested a 21-year-old man Sunday morning in connection with the murder of his 17-year-old girlfriend Saturday afternoon.
Yoan Raul Dominguez was apprehended Sunday in Miami by Hialeah detectives on a charge of second-degree murder for the shooting of his girlfriend Genesis Fonseca at 6396 W. 27th Ave., Hialeah Police spokesman Carl Zogby said in an email.
Dominguez fled the scene after the shooting, Zogby said.

Neither person lived in Hialeah, but instead they were visiting the home of the victim’s mother when the shooting occurred, according to Zogby. The mother was not home at the time, he added.
Relatives told NBC 6 South Florida Fonseca's mother found her body.
"She was found in a white blanket full of blood," cousin David Lopez said.

Dominguez is being held on no bond, online Miami-Dade Corrections records showed. It was not immediately known whether he has an attorney.
Records showed Dominguez has a lengthy list of prior arrests, including an open case for aggravated battery on an elderly person last month.
"Justice will be served. The same way my family is crying and feeling it, I feel bad for his family, I understand they're probably out there crying too," Lopez said.
