Mike Wallace says he's ready to get to work with his new Dolphins teammates a day after the wide receiver signed a 5-year deal with Miami.

"I'm very excited to be here, very excited to start this next chapter in my life down in South Florida," Wallace told reporters at a press conference in Miami Wednesday. "I love everything that's going on down here, I think they're very competitive, [heading] in the right direction."

Wallace, who spent the past four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, said he had a couple of other options in the NFL but he wanted to sign with Miami.

"I think we can do some good things. I like Coach Philbin, he's a good guy, I like the offense," he said. "They wanted me here, they wanted me in their plan."

Wallace said he spoke with fellow Dolphins receiver Brian Hartline Tuesday and had dinner with quarterback Ryan Tannehill Tuesday night.

"Cool guy, he's ready to get down to work just like me," Wallace said of Tannehill. "He's a young guy and I'm a young guy so I think we're gonna be on the same page."

Wallace was selected in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Mississippi. In four seasons with Pittsburgh, he caught 235 passes for 4,042 yards and 32 touchdowns. He went to the Pro Bowl after the 2011 season, when he caught 72 passes for 1,193 yards.

Even though he immediately becomes the number one receiver in Miami, Wallace said he's not feeling any pressure to perform up to expectations.

"It feels like a dream," he said. "I'm still trying to figure everything out but I don't have any pressure."
