A man was arrested after posing as a police officer in Miami, police said Wednesday.
Juan Gonzalez, 44, was charged with falsely impersonating an officer and unlawful use of a police badge, according to an arrest affidavit.
He is being held at the Miami-Dade County jail on a $12,000 bond. It wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney.
Police said the arrest was made after two people tried to park their cars and Gonzalez approached them, showed them a badge and told them he was a cop and that parking was illegal, according to the report.
The report stated that Gonzales also told the two that he was going to search their house. One of the victims was able to flag down a real officer, who arrested Gonzales.

While searching Gonzalez’s car, police found the badge on the floor in the rear passenger side, the report said.
According to the report, Gonzalez said the badge belonged to his friend, who was an ex-Mayor of North Bay Village.
After being arrested, Gonzalez denied showing the badge, the report said.
